This will be my first Christmas away from family and friends.  I know a couple of people here but they are Chinese and dont really celebrate Christmas.  Any ideas for what I can do with my time?

Christmas or not - I doubt if you make a nice meal, or take them to a nice shop, that they will say no.  Sometimes, it is the little things that make the holidays special. :)

Merry Christmas, and have a Happy New Year!

no special plan, just as usual, work, off duty, have a dinner, watch tv, surf internet, hv a bath, go to sleep, then go to work tomorrow.

It's not an official festival in China, but Beijing will undergo traffic congestion tonight for sure. Young people will celebrate it in restaurants, pubs, KTVs... You will see the traffic jam after the working hour. Let's wait.

Go out and celebrate with your frends there.
Or make phone calls to your family or friends.
And maybe a nice film will do.
