Just access the BBC website and by chance read the following headline:

Is illegal gambling and match fixing is the biggest threat to global football?

Is it right in a grammar perspective.

I think the second 'is' is not nesecessary.

I think you are correct, it looks like a typographical error.

Without the second "is", the sentence looks and sounds correct.

Is illegal gambling and match fixing the biggest threat to global football?

Is there any political incorrectness?

I tried to break through those taboo words/characters as Peter did, yet to no avail.

Why is that? Is there any top secret behind this?

我看了原文是This week, we ask if illegal gambling and match fixing is the biggest threat to global football.

The first one is “if ”not “ is”
