This looks like an old reference, for many years electrical goods would have switches and dials, some components would move, slide, or turn, these are moving parts, but a ipod and modern mp3 player has nothing of that nature (look at a tape recorder of 20 years ago)
There is a second possible explanation it may refer to the fact that components are only suitable for one function,and cannot be used in more than one product
