In HK, some visa agents help foreigners to get 90-day L visas which are issued in Shenzhen.
Since the visa is not issued outside China mainland (not in HK, Macau or other countries), there will be some trouble ahead when renewing it in China mainland.

Normally L visas can be extended twice, 30 days for each time without your leaving China mainland.
But last week, the 1st extension was rejected as the Beijing authority treated the 90-day L issued in Shenzhen as a third extension after an L issued in France (in turn 1st  extension in Shanghai, 2nd extension in Shanghai. After that, the foreigner went to HK to re-apply for a visa and got this 90-day L visa).

The abnormal 90-day L visa is an alternative option when HK can only issue 30-day duration of each stay visa due to the visa control.

It happened and happens, because in HK non-Hong Kong identity card holders cannot apply for multiple-entries visas now. What the applicants get most are 3-month valid, 30-day for each stay visas with 1 or 2 entries.

I asked immigration staff when entering china how long my visa was valid and what the rules were, they told me that I could stay for 3 months ,  and have two entries, so basically I think I got a good deal , the agency was at HK airport ,

Where was your visa issued? ISSUED AT Shenzhen city Huanggang port or HongKong?
I know many HK agents do visas either in HK or in Shenzhen border.

There are NO limitation of each stay if issued at Shenzhen, as those issued at many other mainland cities. Thus if it is a 3-month visa, you can stay as long as 90 days without leaving. You don't need to use up the entries.

If issued at HongKong, there is some limitation of each stay. Please pay attention to the DURATION OF EACH STAY. For each stay, you can NOT exceed the duration. The duration of most visas issued in HongKong are 30 days nowadays.
