I don’t think there is any impassable gap between our thinking.

The government from the very beginning has presented respect to Buddhist religion there. DL wasted many chance to sit by Banchan, another Buddha.

Because that’s not his aim. He want to restore a slavery kingdom and rule it by himself.

What's funny is that "slavery kingdom" is a common line from the Chinese, but no one but Parenti ever seems to agree with it.

No, it wasn't. It was still in use under the infamous rule of the present D L.

Wouldn't matter. Serfdom and slavery aren't equivalent. Serfs have rights which inhere in the person, slaves do not. In any case, the status of society in the region cannot be used. Independence was proclaimed in 1913 on the basis of the relationship between the government at Potala and the Chinese emperor, the same basis on which Mongolia declared its independence (oddly respected by the Chinese) and it is incongruous for China to argue that others should stay out of its internal affairs while continuing to flagrantly violate the principle.
