to prevent wars in first place. China is already known for staying at the sidelines of the playing field and when the going gets tough they just look the other way.

The recent weapon delivery to Zimbabwe was not a good move, but I disagree in regards to N. Korea. If China did not quietly support the recent openess of the N. Koreans, in regards to their nuclear program, it would not be occuring.

China is not a country that stands on the roof tops and shouts to the world, "Look at us, Look at us!". So just because they remain silent on an issue, doesn't mean they aren't taking steps to intercede in some form or manner. Especially ones within their direct regional sphere of influence.
--------
And to my comment on the nuclear deterent aspirations of Iran, that people seem to have misconstrued.... I never said Iran was developing nuclear weapons to preemptively strike the U.S..

The U.S. will not put troops on the ground if the enemy has a reasonable nuclear arsenal..... period (regardless of planning). All it takes is some nukes hidden in a small population center or on routes to major population centers to seriously damage/destroy ground forces. Such an explosion would also wipe out any low flying aircraft and produce an operations nightmare.

That is without a missle delivery system.

.. have Nth K., Iran and Zimbabwe invaded recently? Who invaded Iraq on false pretences? If Germany wants to follow the war-mongering neo-cons in the White House into their next experiment with "regime change", then remember this: if Iran is bombed and World War 3 results, Germany will be the first country to disappear. Perhaps this is why you've left your beloved Deutschland?

is it out of your imagination, that this crazy Ahmadinetschad might attack Israel with nuclear rockets ? This scenario is not a brainchild of the Americans and Israeli alone, it is a real threa ...

Notwithstanding their bluster, the Iranians aren't so stupid as to commit suicide by attempting to drop a nuclear bomb on Israel.

More likely would be G.W. Bush taking seriously the "Book of Revelations" and trying to initiate armageddon.

Our War President

Bush took the initiative to dub himself a war president for his 2004 election. He certainly wouldn't be happy being a president and ending a presidency without a war or perhaps a new war.

Bush's recent so-call good-bye visits to European countries was really a trip to asemble a new coalision of the willing to help Israel against Iran. Bush's Iraq invasion only made Iran stronger and made the Iraq-Iran Shiiats realignment a reality without Saddam Hussein. That's the least Bush wanted to see happen.

If Iran is erased through Isaeal's bombs, with the blessing of Bush's new coalision, or even possibly with the US direct intervension, then Bush can leave office with a peace of mind and a real sense of mission accomplished, and that will make Israel happy, and that will give more reasons for the US troops to stay in Iraq and longer (some of them could even be deployed in Iran), and that will boost John McCain's chance of winning the 2008 election, and our present war preisdent can pass his torch to the next war president to be, and that new war will bring about real disastrous consequences to the middle east and the world.

For #27

You think it is possible to stop a shoot first, go it alone war president? Did the UN and the world public opinion stop the Iraq invsion in 2003?

Did you hear what Sarkozy was saying? This time, they will act on what they call future possiblities, they are not talking about evidence or proof (real or imagined) any more...
