how to translate "前4次,后4次"

Hello guys, plz help me to translate "前4次,后4次, 从上往下数,从下往上数, 倒数(从后往前数)... in english..

forward 4 times, backward 4 times, count from top to end, and then count on opposite sequence. Count in reverse order.

but someone said 前4次 is first four times...
or both of them are ok ??
