Duckie. I have 4 passports full of Chinese visas. Even with this I had bigga troubles to extend mine. Een though the guys in PSB know me personally for years. Even that I am married to Chinese.
Finally I got a few months extension and was told I MUST leave China this time (before this prolongation is expired). All took long time. People from my company, visiting China many times a year will not come this time, cause they did not foresee that the application time will be so much prolonged and so dofficult.

Sorry boys...

... but laowais are laowais in the eyes of the powers to be in Beijing, period.

Before this farce is over, there are going to be a lot of hurt feelings - and long memories started.  But as long as the powers to be feel that they can come through this without issue - the policies will continue.

The Olympics are the current excuse...

... for brushing out the riff-raff.

However, it will be interesting to see if this will extend after the Olympics and continue for the 'business classes' as well.

... Mississippi Masala?

It starts with a few clips from Uganda, and Idi Amin telecast...
