Soldier strength make up for tech

To make up for the technology, China made their soldiers strong and muscular.

...  One word "Untested"

On the other hand the US Marines are constantly in training , around the world , jackboots on every corner and continent of the world . Their dedication towards perfection is unmatched . They would start a war or three , on any pretense , to hone in and sharpen their combat alertness and skills .  The PLA cannot afford to , do not rely on  and had no intention of such " skills " at the expense of other people's lives and peace . But then we   are   different .

The irony and tragedy , without ecstasy , is that the honed in and humming US Marines have not won a single war since the end of WWII !?  Ho hum with the boot camp skills huh ?

Chang, if you want to know how you look to normal people, take a look at Seneca.
Seneca,  if you want to know how you look to normal people, take a look at Chang.

What a load of rubbish.

Changabula's an ignorant, provocative racist who hates white people and delights in personal abuse.

Seneca simply calls it as he sees it, good bad or indifferent, and appears to have no time for hypocrisy.

unity and patriotism

BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- About 2.3 million Chinese MSN users have added a pattern of "red heart" and the English word "China" in front of their online signatures to show their unity and patriotism.

MSN China spokesman Feng Guangshun released the figure on Thursday. Many more people have opened their MSN accounts to find a message which asked them to add the "red heart" and "China" in front of their signatures.

Feng said he expected the number of participants of this activity, which started Wednesday as a spontaneous patriotic campaign by Chinese Internet users, to raise dramatically in the following few days.

Many overseas Chinese have also taken up the logo. Li Zhen, a student studying at the Mathematics Department of Iowa State University added a dozen "red hearts" to his online signature.

Li said he and other Chinese students at his university printed out signs and logos of Beijing Olympics and put them up at his department to let more people know about Beijing Olympics.

Well I watched the video and and there wasn't much ass-kicking on...the two groups of Marines seemed to be getting along quite well.

Trader, I don't know about the importance of that "untested" part.

One of my personal heros, General James M Gavin, and his 82nd Airborne Division, jumped into Sicily in 1943 with hardly a "tested" man among them. As history knows, they gave a good account of themselves.

Hate to be brutal about it - but oldest of the officer corp and non-coms would be either be from the Indian or Vietnam Conflicts.  The 82nd, along the rest of the army and navy - had veterans of WWI, the 'Banana Wars', and scary enough - 'Spanish American' War.

On the plus side - it looks like the politburo is starting to see the advantage of seasoning the troops with U.N. and possible S.C.O. or African work - so a possible updating is available.
