it is a new procedure introduced in the last one year......

instead of usual stay in bed for 2-3 days, where it is even more dangerous as found during Sars virus crisis, patients are treated/surgical within the day & allowed to go home to rest in bed........

Overseas patient may go to hotle for rest.......& come back for check the next morning...

they also do for eyes eg. change of lens,cornea,etc.....

inpatient = hospital stay needed.

门诊 = clinic.

But clinic is not the same as outpatient.

While it is quite common to translate your sentence into 门诊显微外科手术, you must understand the two aren't equivalent.

"Outpatient" simply means the patient didn't have to stay overnight in a hospital after treatment.
