YES, when i was with Wuxi friends, we say Taihu Lake & English did not Rule

There is no argument here.  He is just teasing.

caringhk is a good friend and he's saying his Wuxi friends like to call Taihu 太湖湖.:)

Of course his friends can call it anything they want.

Still, as I said, all the great lakes in China -- Qinghai Lake, Dongting Lake, Boyang Lake -- do not have the word "hu" in their English equivalents.

andrewyan's Chinese piece is as touching as the Italian masterpiece "爱的教育" translated by 夏丏尊 from the Japanese version.

The original work was written by 埃得蒙多·德·亚米契斯 Edmondo De Amicis.
