Hi! First, don't you think its about you. it's about gender discrimination. it is really unfair for companies not to hire you because of your age and single status.

Girl use the law!  Talk to the company about the employment promotion law, which came into force on january 1st 2008. it strictily bans female gender discrimination. if they don't listen seek legal advice.

If u use it companies are going to become aware of it and will respect it!
laws are there for us to use!

Employment Promotion Law, Article 26

"The State shall ensure that women enjoy equal labour rights as men. When an employing unit recruits labourers, it shall not use sex as a pretext for excluding women from employment or to raise recruitment standards for the females. ...When an employing unit recruits female workers, it shall not estipulate in the labour contract any content, which restricts workers from getting married or bearing child."

Would be hard to prove you were discriminated against, but if you take a tape recorder and hide in your bag while you have the interview, you surely could get some kind of evidence to make your point. Also the All China Women Federation help women a lot to overcome all these issues. In Shanghai they are very active, from them you can get legal advice.

Don't lose hope and as I said use the LAW!!
Fight against gender discrimination! don't compromise your womanhood!!!

The situation is the same whether you are in any city,
The core point is if you have the rivalrousness,
If yes, you really aren't afraid of having not a good job,
If no, please kindly go ahead to improve yourself first,
None of company is willing to reject a candidate with great ability,

That's all right,
