Meat in China is now almost the same price as in ripoff Britain (where wages are inordinately higher for the common man) and almost double the US prices...

Yeah, I've noticed the big dent meat prices have made in my salary. What about our salaries too, the foreign teachers who already earn, comparatively, low salaries. Can we expect our salaries to rise in line with inflation? Ya know, I doubt it, because as is often said by employers, we earn so much more than our Chinese colleagues. Maybe we do in cash, but they have many more benefits which make life a lot easier for them. I wouldn't, couldn't and shouldn't expect the same but I/we should be paid a bit more to keep our salaries more in line with the cost of living!
