This 2008 presidential election isn't about religious beliefs as you might have been led to believe..

It isn't just about who can lead the nation's armed forces better simply because a candidate had a stint at Hanoi Hilton

It isn't just about who can manage the Age Divide better with most young activists advocating for Obama's candidacy.

And it surely isn't just about whether a Harvard or a Yale law graduate wlll do a better job in untying the Gordian Knot in the Middle East.

had a stint at Hanoi Hilton=? I learnt Hanoi Hilton was a prison during Vietname War.

What is the connotation of it?

Is Obama a Harvard graduate? I know Clintons graduated from Yale Uni.
Talk in English rather than talking about English.

The connotation of Hanoi Hilton is bitter irony.

"Hilton," of course, is a reference to the well-known Hilton Hotel chain of hotels. But, in the context of "Hanoi Hilton," the term refers (sarcastically) to the Hoa Lo Prison where the conditions were miserable and the food very bad.

Today only a few cells remain as a museum of the Hoa Lo Prison. And, according to Wikipedia, there is an actual Hilton Hotel in Hanoi, called the Hilton Hanoi Opera Hotel, opened in 1999—Hilton carefully avoided adopting the dreaded name "Hanoi Hilton" for its hotel.
