Police beat man in diabetic shock
Sun Feb 12, 2012 4:26PM GMT

A Nevada city will pay a diabetic man $158,500 after police beat him while he was in diabetic shock, thinking he was a drunken driver.

The Henderson, Nev., city council approved the settlement on Tuesday for the physical and emotional distress endured in late 2010 by the man, who asked not to be identified.

The video showed that once the car was pulled over, police officers swarmed the driver and began kicking him. PrisonPlanet

Police fatally shoot unarmed Marine in Orange County
Mon Feb 13, 2012 3:30AM GMT

A Marine sergeant fatally shot by an Orange County sheriff's deputy in a dark San Clemente high school parking lot on Tuesday was not armed and the incident doesn't appear to be alcohol- or drug-related, sheriff's officials said.

A sheriff's spokesman said the deputy feared for the safety of two young girls sitting in a parked car when he shot Marine Sgt. Manuel Loggins Jr. The shooting occurred as Loggins started to get into the SUV where his two daughters - ages 9 and 14 - were sitting, authorities said.

Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the Sheriff's Department, said the deputy was fearful that Loggins - who he said appeared to be acting irrationally - was about the drive off with the girls.

A former commanding officer said Loggins routinely went to the school during the early morning with his daughters to walk the track and read the Bible. Los Angeles Times

This is pure racism. Its all because the guy is Black. Its a disgrace: The very system the the guy serve for turn around and kill him. I bet, the cop which shot him was white.

SO MANY American police have a god complex - they think they are correct no matter what they say. And if someone stands up to their injustice, the hero is brought down. Well, then go back to watching your hero movies and think you're better than everyone on earth, Bruce Willis wannabes

This is another example of the racist policy of the U.S.A. Where if you are a minority your life don't mean nothing, they (the police) shoot first ask questions later much later. They can have a parade for football players and not spend one thin dime for veterans who fought in a war that lasted for TEN YEARS!!!

Just like they "helped" Libya by arming rebels... They "helped" the little girls by killing their father.

Occupy activist beaten and arrested by NYPD faces 7 years in prison

February 10, 2014

The trial in the case against a 23-year-old activist accused of assaulting a police officer during an Occupy Wall Street demonstration in New York City nearly two years ago finally got underway Monday afternoon in Manhattan.

Prosecutors say Cecily McMillan assaulted a member of the New York Police Department, a felony, during a March 17, 2012 event in NYC that commemorated the six-month anniversary of the OWS protest movement.

McMillan’s supporters say the NYPD should be the ones on trial, however, and that the activist could have died while being detained.

During the course of McMillan’s arrest that spring, she sustained a violent beating that resulted in bruised ribs and cuts across her body. When she appeared on Democracy Now! Days after the incident, she sported bruises above her breast and on both arms and elbows. Most significant, however, was a seizure she suffered while laying helplessly in handcuffs while being detained after police say she elbowed an officer in the face.

“Cops were not in a hurry to help her and she was handcuffed. People in the crowd who have EMT licenses asked if they could go to her but police refused to let them through,” eyewitness Julia Reinhart recalled to the Daily Mail shortly after the incident unfolded in 2012.

Others say McMillan writhed on the ground seizing for upwards of seven minutes before reportedly fainting. An ambulance arrived after around 15 minutes.

“[Police] were just standing,” another witness told the Mail two years ago. “They dragged her from the ground on the street over to the curb and let her lay on the curb.”

“They did not support her neck or spine the way you're supposed to do when someone is seizing to prevent them from choking on their tongue or their own blood. They did none of those things,” the unnamed source said.

Starting this week, a jury will be asked to examine the facts from that protest and determine of McMillan was the one who committed a felony by allegedly assaulting a police officer. She faces a maximum of seven years in prison if convicted of assault in the second degree, a class D felony, and prosecutors have indicated they will ask for the harshest sentence if a guilty verdict is returned.

“The main issue here,” her attorney Martin R. Stolar told Sparrow Media in a press release this week, “is the heavy-handed, over-policing by the NYPD during the Occupy Wall Street protests, which lead to crimes where none existed. It was a normal reaction for a woman to react, to be startled after having her right breast grabbed.”

That groping, Stolar told The Guardian, started the whole ordeal. “The question for the jury is whether she intentionally assaulted him,” he told the paper. “We’re going to present evidence that indicates: Number one, that she had no idea it was a police officer behind her; and number two, that she reacted when someone grabbed her right breast.”

Responding with an elbow, Stolar said, “does not constitute a crime.”

“That constitutes a bit of over-policing and an accident as a result of that,” he told the Guardian.

“I am innocent of any wrongdoing, and confident I will be vindicated,” McMillan said shortly after the incident. Jury selection in her trial began Monday.

rocky Fjord:

And John Kerry was just asking for amnesty for the rioters in Ukraine who actually killed two police officers!
What hypocrisy, what a farce. Hope the defense attorney has the competence to draw this parallel and
contrast! The American judicial system knows quite a lot about injustice, but it knows virtually nothing about justice.

US cop responding to 911 call charged with raping victim

Mar 9, 2014

A US police officer in Detroit, Michigan, has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman who made a 911 call reporting domestic violence.

The alleged sexual assault occurred on October 30, 2013, when Detroit police officer Deon Nunlee and his partner were dispatched to the woman’s home at around 3 a.m., reported MyFoxDetroit.

The woman claims that the officer sexually assaulted her in her bedroom and told her that he would come back to her home the next morning at 7 a.m.

When the cops left her home, the woman told two friends about the assault and reported it to the police the next day.

A rape exam was conducted at Detroit Receiving Hospital and the rape kit was forwarded to the Michigan State Police Crime Lab.

Nunlee, who has been on the force for six years since 2008, was suspended with pay and was put on desk duty on October 31 when the allegation came in.

The officer turned himself in on Thursday when an arrest warrant went out for him after a positive DNA test came back. Nunlee, however, has denied the woman’s claim.

Detroit Police Commander Johnny Thomas has said there are a few minor incidents on Nunlee’s file and he “has nothing anywhere near this degree of misconduct.”

“Once the criminal case is over we will do our internal investigation,” he added.
