Regardless, it is going to be interesting to see what languages

are going to be used.  Looks like English may get the nod, given that it is being taught in both India and China as a major foreign language.

Indian students who do not get admission in Indian medical colleges on merit basis are going to China. The medical profession is most highly respected profession in India, also Indian doctors make up a huge chunk in USA and UK. Only students scoring 90% marks or above get admission in Indian medical colleges, while others try their luck in Russia,China,Ukraine etc since the cost of education is affordable there.

dannycool,

Are you implying that Chinese medical schools will take discards from abroad ? I hope not  because it is not true . One can argue that sort after overseas medical schools demand HIGHER entrance marks . It boils down to supply and demand , isn't it . Chinese medical progress over the past two decades have been nothing short of spectacular , both in scope and quality . There are lots of foreign post graduates doing medical research and gaining experience in Chinese hospitals . So it is still an excellent scheme for advancement of knowledge and friendship .

It depends - is he talking about ethnic Chinese from other countries, like Malaysia or Indonesia?  Or is he just talking about those students that could not afford to medical school via scholarship or direct tuition?

It Was Also Reported

It was also reported that quite a few of our Indian friends who lived or studied in China, wedded Chinese girls.  The article cited one reason given by an Indian yoga instructor that the Chinese women tend to work harder to keep in shape and not grow fat after they get married.  Don't know how much of that is true, relatively speaking.
