It's true, the USA does have a lot to answer to/for?

But in a short amount time (in terms of history), even the most Anti-US country has taken a more pragimatic approach, yes?

US to pursue new Iran sanctions

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Bush administration won't back down on pursuing new sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program despite questions about their usefulness raised by government auditors, U.S. officials said Wednesday.

Bush, the brainless wonder, is hell bent on fighting another war before he leaves office.

Give this idiotic dictator of the free world half a chance and he will lie the US into attacking Iran, even without Rumsfeld and his imaginary mind wanderings. Being guided by god, mad King George with his horrid grin, will try one ploy after another even if it means ruining the US.

The Bushky team just cannot stop starting conflict after conflict.

No. I don't trust a word that they say anymore. In fact, there is a study which showed that they lied to the American people!

Study: White House false statements preceded war
(Agencies)
Updated: 2008-01-23 13:59

WASHINGTON -- A study by two nonprofit journalism organizations found that President Bush and top administration officials issued hundreds of false statements about the national security threat from Iraq in the two years following the 2001 terrorist attacks.

President Bush addresses the media in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington, Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008. A study by two nonprofit journalism organizations found that President Bush and top administration officials issued hundreds of false statements about the national security threat from Iraq in the two years following the 2001 terrorist attacks. [Agencies]

The study concluded that the statements "were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses."

The study was posted Tuesday on the Web site of the Center for Public Integrity, which worked with the Fund for Independence in Journalism.

White House spokesman Scott Stanzel did not comment on the merits of the study Tuesday night but reiterated the administration's position that the world community viewed Iraq's leader, Saddam Hussein, as a threat.

"The actions taken in 2003 were based on the collective judgment of intelligence agencies around the world," Stanzel said.

The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both.

"It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to al-Qaida," according to Charles Lewis and Mark Reading-Smith of the Fund for Independence in Journalism staff members, writing an overview of the study. "In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003."
Named in the study along with Bush were top officials of the administration during the period studied: Vice President Dick Cheney, national security adviser Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan.

Bush led with 259 false statements, 231 about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 28 about Iraq's links to al-Qaida, the study found. That was second only to Powell's 244 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 10 about Iraq and al-Qaida.

The center said the study was based on a database created with public statements over the two years beginning on September 11, 2001, and information from more than 25 government reports, books, articles, speeches and interviews.

"The cumulative effect of these false statements -- amplified by thousands of news stories and broadcasts -- was massive, with the media coverage creating an almost impenetrable din for several critical months in the run-up to war," the study concluded.

"Some journalists -- indeed, even some entire news organizations -- have since acknowledged that their coverage during those prewar months was far too deferential and uncritical. These mea culpas notwithstanding, much of the wall-to-wall media coverage provided additional, 'independent' validation of the Bush administration's false statements about Iraq," it said.

Here are some readers comments to show that no one believe a word from them:

From: Americans R SHEEPS 2008-01-23 20:35
they follow their flock like zombies, they are not what they touted by the US mainstream media..." FREE-THINKING, DEMOCRATIC, COMPASSIONATE, LOVING, CARING..etc..etc...", Americans are living in a world of make-believe, like in the movie by Jim carrey " THE TRUMAN'S SHOW ".

From:  foxy 2008-01-23 17:53
It was obvious from the start, that Mr. Bush was an obsessed man bent on starting a war on Iraq. Also his mate in the game, Mr Blair was pushing the same tale about the Iraqi WMD-s. Mr Blair was even convinced that Iraq could start a major attack in under 40 minutes, with all sort of weapons including chemical warfare. What is even more disturbing, is they are at it again, with the Iranian issue. The political influence of the US on its European ally-s makes this sinister behavior more abhorrent. This guy ought to be stopped, before it is too late, the hard question is: Who could do it?

A Free Press is not necessarily a truthful press, because journalists want to keep their jobs too. I saw Saddam Hussein on television once, and I knew he was telling the truth, because he was too proud to lie. But the Western media almost never let the enemy (or victim-to-be) directly speak: You (in the West) never get first-hand information from Kim, Ahmadinejad, etc., and even not from Putin, or Chinese leaders. Intelligence is no use, if all your information is contaminated.
It's election time in the US, so all sorts of dirty linen are being exposed
.

This is not news. Many of us knew from the beginning the White House was fabricating itself into a war it, and nobody else, wanted. But in those days to express scepticism was to find oneself labelled un-patriotic at best, an anti-American terrorist sympathizer at worst. And yes, the media shares a large portion of the blame.

The truly galling thing is that this administration has gotten, and will get, away with eight years of lies and human rights abuses, thanks to a Republican congress more concerned with covering the president's ass than safeguarding the Constitution. And the American people are saddled with an insoluble morass that has drained trillions from taxpayer pocketbooks and mired the American economy in stalemate for six years.

In the end, the only thing we naysayers were wrong about was just how incredibly incompetent this administration would turn out to be. Who could have predicted THAT?

What truly is amazing is the fact that intelligent people believed these lies!
