Ah but that is a normal name ... I want to hear strange names ...

Girls called Apple, Peaches etc ...

Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof, Fifi Trixibelle Geldof.

And to think that millions of people sent their father (Bob Geldof) money.
(mostly harmless)

In Greece we give our children the names of grandfathers and grandmothers.
So if the grandfather or grandmother have got a strange name then the child inherits it.
I will mention some really funny names which translated into english go like this

the greek name         PARTHENA in english   VIRGIN
GRAMMATIKI                                         in english GRAMMAR
AGGOURI                                           in english CUCUMBER

The poor children are shy to tell their names so they use a nickname
I really    love China,半个 中国 人

May I suggest perhaps a slight modification in the threads title to clarify?

Anyway, I met a guy the other day whose chose as his English name: Bob Zhang.

May not seem strange to some but I just can't get over a Chinese gentleman with the name of "Bob."
