译成这样可以吗:
年龄大小不是问题,重要的是积累了多少。(少壮不努力,老大徒伤悲。)

Is there a context or is it just the saying on it own?

like for the following context, you can't use 积累了多少 can you?

"It's not how old you are it's HOW you are old. If you act old and you're not physically fit you're old. If you can't run for a bus, or if someone's going to run into you and you can't get out of the way quickly, then you're old! "

Therefore i think it depends on the context...

In the context of maturity it probably can mean 成长跟年龄有关; 成熟与年龄无关
a difficult one to translate!
