Let no man doubt it !

It is reassuring that the PLA has come out on her birthday to declare to the world that there will be no Taiwan independence . This is mainly made as a clarion call to those who may still harbour dreams of underhanded mischiefs . Criminals like Ah-Bian has  stashed away more than enough loot from the Taiwanese people , into US and Swiss banks so that when he ignites the fuse to independence , he can fly off to his organ grinder and live happily ever after .

Not so fast buster !! The Chinese Taiwanese are awake to your criminal mind and intent and the PLA will ensure that culprits like these do not escape justice and punishment .

Let us hope that the patriotic Chinese on both sides of the Strait do not have to fight each other because they is no need to . There is more than enough good times to be shared by all .  Zhongguo wan sui .

I say the following with all due respect, but since when does the PLA formulate policy in the PRC? I thought that was the politburos job!

Well wasn't it Mao who said, "power comes from the barrel of a gun" ?

The politburo might have their little meetings, but the PLA has the guns!

Maybe UN peacekeeping will give some of the officer corps some experience that will prove useful - but the rest of the armed forces is still a very big question mark. ...

I agree, a peace keeping mission to south Pacific or Timor will be good.

Ohh also bring the medium range missile.

Technology is always nice...

But as P.R. China witnessed the Soviet, American, and British debacles of the late 20th/early 21th centuries - technology cannot replace the man with the rifle on the front line.

The more mechanical becomes the weapons with which we fight, the less mechanical must be the spirit which controls them.

— Field Marshal Archibald P. Wavell.

No guts, no glory. If you are going to shoot him down, you have to get in there and mix it up with him.

— General Frederick C. "Boots" Blesse, USAF

Only the spirit of attack borne in a brave heart will bring success to any fighter aircraft, no matter how highly developed it may be.
