Yeah harregarre I'm aware of what a welfare state looks like. I’ve seen it in action in Australia and I guess it's not much different to Norway. Those that sit on their arse are looked after by those that work hard.

Single mothers have an extra baby so they can get more welfare. The unemployed need to be coaxed back to work because sometimes there benefits outweigh their salary.

Yes, it's best to let people rot in their poverty when they have no chance on higher education. Way to go, buddy. As long as you're not the one affected by these rules, nothing is wrong. That's some seriously selfish thoughts there, dude.

Always in motion is the future...

It is going to be interesting to see how our great grandchildren muse over our pondering - because I think we all will be surprised at the results.

The label of "democracy" is largely tarnished by the action of various US regimes when they try to force implement "democracy" on states as a way to create a puppet government. These efforts inevitably failed and have left an ugly mark on that particular label.

So it's important to differentiate between real democracy and "democracy" as a political tool. It is also important to distinguish between so called "westerners". Europeans and Americans have vastly different concept of democracy and it's very confusing when we use such a generic label.

Hope this will facilitate discussion.

In reply to NW: I don't really know how to answer that. History always seemed certain in hindsight.

Absolutely right there, Harregarre.

Unfortunately it seems that what ZG's "agenda" is , is that he doesn't want to help anyone else. He doesn't want his taxes to help educate some poor kids so that they can get a good job and pull themselves out of poverty.
Quite sad really. No wonder he wants to live in China where he can exploit the locals and line his own pockets.
