Pollution in China? City people getting fatter? Traffic accident? Dip in the market? Taiwan doesn't want to be part of the motherland? Increase in divorce in China?
ALL the fault of the great Satan...America.

First, oil prices are primarily influenced by two things:

1) Supply:  OPEC holds 'loose' control over production of existing/known oil reserves.  They can reduce production to increase prices, or glut the market with increased production to bring the price down.  If reserves decrease, this will eventually lead to increased prices if production can not meet demand.

2)  Demand:  Collectively, all nations importing oil for foreign nations produce a demand which will determine prices.  The more nations want, the higher the price.

An additional factor is the 'usage' tax imposed by governments.  This can control demand.

===>  Secondly, rebel groups and armed conflict in Ethiopia was not the result of world oil usage.  The attack could just as easily happened at a auto manufacturing or steel production facility.  The sad fact is that Chinese nationals were at the wrong place at the wrong time.  It happens when a nation starts flexing it economic or military power.  Get used to it.  When a nations wants to play in the big leagues, it must be willing to accept the consequences/costs.

There were 60+ Africans killed as well in this...I doubt that Chinese died because they were Chinese. Sadly it is a case of just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It could have been any group of workers of any nationality.

Bali etc

A bomb goes off in Thailand

some white tourists are killed or inured

but the Anglow press does not see it as an attack on Anglows

just Anglows caught up in a dispute between local gangsters

It was alleged that one of the gangs belonged to the ex-prime minister
