today,i participated a conversation(held by EF training school),and our teacher  who came from US just came to chengdu two weeks ago. our topic was about Easter.frankly, when i glanced the word at the first-sight,i didnt know what was mean, lol and when my classmate told it was 复活节,oh,yes ,i knew it ,but just a little bit about it.
and when our teacher knew that fewer familiar about Easter, she told us more about it ,and now i knew that different religious used different way to celebarted it ,in today, for many christian ,Easter means the rebirth of Jesus and children would hunt the colored eggs (egg mean rebirth ) and they would eat chocolate or candy that the Easter bunny left to them. Christians commemorated Good Friday as the day that Jesus Christ died and Easter Sunday as the day that He was rebirth.our teacher also told us that for the pagans the sun was their  god not Jesus. Protestant settlers brought the custom of a sunrise service, a religious gathering at dawn, to the United State.and for many Americans they didnt know about it ,they just knew bunny, chocolate etc. she also told us the Easter's mean in pre-christian ,but i confused by her words  ,and i just knew the winter means died and spring means rebirth,i dont know if it is right, could you tell me ?

Easter

Yes, all the information about Easter is true.  My family celebrates the death and rebirth of Jesus on Easter.  We go to sunrise church service for a special time to worship Jesus.  After this we go to a second church service.  The rest of the day we spend eating and visiting with our family.  I do not teach my children about the Easter bunny because I want them to remember Jesus not the bunny.  The Sunday before Easter is Palm Sunday.  This is the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey over 2000 years ago,  The crowd of people sang "Hosanna" and were happy to see him.  Within the same week he was crucified on the cross for our sin.  This is not the end of the story.  When Jesus's followers went to the tomb on the 3rd day the Bible said  there was an angel there and the angel told them....He is not here for He has Risen!  That is what we celebrate on Easter Sunday.  This day represent our salvation by Jesus Christ.  We believe that when we die---IF we have a relationship wittn Jesus thru prayer---we will go to heaven.  We also believe that there will be an end to time and when this happens Jesus will come back and take us to heaven to live with Him.  I hope this has helped you to understand the meaning of Easter.  Most American families that I know celebrate this holiday.
