its not even necessary to have all the people use the remote control.
you could even limit them to those wise and informed people numbering 10,000.
or you could have 13 president of the usa.
they all decide on important issues.
just like you have 13 supreme court justices.

You got a choice of two

In the west, US of A at least, the "two" is often controlled by the same profit industry. So in fact they have choice of one disguised as choice of two. That's what happen when you combine "democracy" with "capitalism".

But of course, there are plenty of less capitalist states like Sweden which are also true democracies and not at all corrupt. And on the other side, you have countries more or less free from capitalism like North Korea which are completely corrupt.

I would agree that democracy doesn't necessarily bring freedom from corruption: just look at South Africa, which has become incredibly corrupt since universal suffrage was introduced in 1994.

I think corruption is more to do with culture than either political or economic systems.

Western "democracy" is not that valuable to Asians

There are cultural differences.  Asians are happy the way things are, and don't bother with western form of "democracy", Hollywood movies, sexual styles, etc.

Adolf Hitler was "democratically elected" to lead Germany, and he led Germany to war and destruction.

The Roman empire had a form of "democracy" even though the Romans were on their mission to conquer other peoples.

George Bush, Jr. was "democratically elected", and he started his rampage of foreign wars.

It is said that 18% of Americans voted in the last presidential election.  That means 82% of American voters did not care about their "democracy".  Americans are tired of their futile exercise of "democracy".

If you can not stop your government from sending your sons and daughters to die in foreign wars, you don't have true democracy, only lip service.  Asians don't need what you now have.

Corruption is inherent in human nature.

Western Europe is relatively free of corruption not because of any reason than because the society is too rich for the need of corruption.

After years of plundering, of course europeans can't help but to get rich.

There are alternatives to the US electoral system. In Ireland, we are able to vote first, second and third choices, so we are never put in a position where we have to vote for a candidate simply because his opponent is worse. In Ireland, most governments are coalition governments, there is no "two party dictatorship" as you put it. And we are the fourth wealthiest nation on earth.
