" Copying " shouts from the Coward's Castle.

" Copying Copying !"  screamed and shrilled the defeated and the vanquished . " Not fair, not fair " echoed the fellow casualties . This scene was fully played out when the Japanese produced cheap and good cameras, transistors, cars and everything else after WWII. " Piracy, nasty Japs " protested the bigots and the lame, smashing up Japanese goods in public and mounting a boycott. Of course these same zealots continued to buy Japanese goods and many made a good living being distributors of the same range of goods. Ever heard of humbug and hypocrisy ?   They are patented practices of the USA.

Now it is China's turn. " Counterfeit, contraband, cheap, dumping and of course ' copying ' " reads that soiled and sordid banner. The real story tells of a failed, outpaced and outsmarted have-been society , cringing and lamenting that they are not able to compete anymore.

It is worth remembering that these " patencies " were never an issue when the West were pilfering, stealing and hijacking other peoples' inventions, innovations, herbal cures and traditional medicines . They were non-plussed by these administrative niceties then because " the natives don't mind ". Humbug and hypocricy again.

China is in the WTO, bring valid complaints to the tribunal or else shut up.

Confucius said " It is  a poor workman who blames his tools "

Now, you moaners and groaners can put the money where your mouths are. Boycott " made in China " goods and services. That will teach them. It may work .

Every dog has its day.

Dear zglobal,

OK, I'll try to talk someone into making a Porsche at half the cost , just for you. You can be sure that those bleating & barking hounds would be queuing up to lay their sticky fingers on one too.

SS,

Tell me, if China is so bad as you make it out to be, why are you still hanging around here like a bad smell ?. I am sure you are making money in China you can't possibly make back in Europe. Most likely you are unemployable back there. Talk about biting the hand which feeds you .  Well " every dog has his day ".

...what then happens is the CHinese contract partner often manages to continue production of the goods he was making for his western business partner and dumps them on the free market. ...

The potential for which is of some concern to my sister who has her unique (and patented) "invention" manufactured in China. We are hoping that the manufacturer is honest and does not sell to other parties.
