Reference link to info about the massacre.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Lai_massacre

Lt. Calley was convicted in a courts martial in 1971.  The trail started in 1970 based on investigative reports written in late 1969 on the 1967 incident.

This courts martial was a result of media reporting ("uproar") of this brutal incident.

Apologies for rundant posting of articles convering the My Lai massacre.

I believe this shows some similarities between Chinese and American tragedies.

Similar to the events of the 'Great Leap Forward' and the 'C*lt*r*l R*v*l*t**n', their are always people that will try to cover up mistakes made by others in the military/government.  Even if others die or are intentionally killed.

Thank god for those with the courage and backbone to stand up and try to expose the guilty.  In the case of My Lai, fellow soldiers were aided by the media to inform the public.  In the Chinese examples, the establishment was too powerful, and sent critics to labor camps.

English papers in China have as much journalistic value as a copy of the National Inquirer: amusing for a brief moment, yet impossible to take seriously.
Individuality: Always Remember That You Are Unique.  Just Like Everybody Else.
