What kind of a site name is this?

Be very careful when one makes donations or answers to appeals for donations on the internet.

I never trust internet so much as ..... "today they are here but tomorrow they could be gone".

It is true that the Morecombe Bay tragedy did happen.  The victims were poor and desperate people who risked their lives to make some money so that their family back home in China could live better.  They are also ignorant and naive people who think "optimistically" (one-track mind) about opportunities abroad but never their risks or the chances that they could be cheated.

But how do we know that this appeal for public donations is not another scam?

The name of the website is definitely appealing and the photographs and stories of the victims touching BUT

how do we verify that the appeal for public donation is genuine and that

all donations will certainly reach and benefit the victim families?

So, before you remit your hard-earned money or your parents' hard earned money to possible scams, check and verify that the appeals are genuine.

TMPHGT, since you posted the appeal here, have you done the necessary homework and verified that this is a genuine and legitimate appeal for donations to help the victims' families?

Is there anyway you can show proof that this is no scam ?

Did the appeal for donations obtain the UK government or the Chinese government stamp that it is legitmate appeal for donations from the public and there is a committee (or at least it must be a government-support body) to ensure that all public donations will go to the pockets of the family members and not line the pockets of some other people ?

Thank you for doing these poor victims' families the good deeds of bringing to the public attention their plight but DO US THE BIGGER DEED of providing more evidence of legitimacy.
