The ALL BLACKS challenge critics of Australia to a rugby match

We in the UK , EU and the USA  hold fast to our unbreakable alliance with our friends in Australia.
I actually like Australians and even admire their technology, yes for a small country they have sophisticated
indigenous technology. Their wine is really great ( Try LINDAUER sparkling) When the Olympics were
held in Australia the world gasped with admiration at the organisation and the number of
medals won by such a small Australian population. They are unbreakable friends of the UK.
They are a permanent part of the western military alliance and rightly so .Try not to envy
the Aussies try to beat them in a fair competition --- if you can

Envy? We are not... just like them to be more commited to this region, instead of being a deputy sheriff of a lonesome cowboy.

north, sounds to me like you're interfering with Australia's "sovereign, internal affairs". :)

In all seriousness, Australia isn't a large enough country to have a completely independent foreign policy. So it has to maintain friendly relations with one of the larger powers. And realistically who else apart from the US would support it? Would China come to Australia's rescue if a conflict with Indonesia (for example) started? I strongly doubt it under any circumstances. Australia's looking out for number 1, much as China does with its foreign policy.

I admire their women.    Such hot accents.  Keith Urban is cool too.

With ANZUS, and even without, I don't think the Aussies have to worry about the Indonesians.  What Navy in SE/E Asia would be able to overwhelm the Australian navy anyways?

More a goose !

Australia under the Howard regime is more a goose than a duckling. This man is so genetically Asiaphobic he is unreal. His attitude to the Aborigines, the Asians and the Pacific islanders is the same. They must " know their place ".

Australia has achieved a huge lot of good. The living standard is high and all the advanced technologies are on tap. But a society is unfortunately judged by the way it treats its most disadvantaged and poorest citizens. On this score, Australia must hang her head in shame and embarassment. Medical services in the bush have been described as "  worse than the third world " by many an NGO delegation such as the UNO.

Australia under little Johnny has a split personality : she wants to remain pure white but the money is with the browns. Decision decision ! Unless a modern and more inclusive lot of leaders come on board, Australia will be left stranded at the round about wondering which way to go.

In contrast, in what ways is China racially inclusive?  I get the idea that unless a foreigner in China wants to be a clown (white face for the crowd to gather around), an ESL teacher of which many say they are treated sub par, or unless you own a business with foreign currency/clout, you'll end up damn near homeless in China and probably with little to no welfare to draw upon.

and I take it that china has good services in the bush as you put it , I don't think so , do you have broadband internet access in your bush , I dont think so , do you have a flying doctor service that visits the most remote areas so the poorest of people can have medical attention, I don't think so, do you have a national health policy that does not discriminate on race , citizenship, wealth, sex, sexual prefference, age, I don't think so, let's compare shall we how old is China compared to Australia and what is the population difference, I would guess that it is so vast that it would be beyond comprehention, look at what Australia has done in just over 200 years with a boat load of prisoners, I'm happy here for now.
