I think the confusion arose from the sentence: she slept late yesterday是说她昨天睡到很晚才起来么?

The usual way, at least in the West Coast, to say is: sleep in
On weekends, people sleep in.
It's Sunday today, I slept late this morning
sleep late = sleep in
sleep in = overlept = not get up at the usual time in the morning.
it would be clear if the sentence is changed to "She overlsept yesterday, and she did it again today" 她头一天很晚睡觉,她第二天睡到很晚才起来.

She slept late yesterday → She slept longer than usual (or past her usual time for getting up).

sleep in to sleep beyond one's usual time of arising.

oversleep to sleep longer or later than you intended to

You can sleep in or sleep late without oversleeping and oversleep without sleeping late or sleeping in.
[You usually get up at 8 AM.]

When I woke up at 7:30 AM, I found that I had overslept and missed the 7 AM conference call. (You did not "sleep in.")

I slept in till 10:30 AM but still had time to meet him for lunch at noon. (You did not oversleep.)
She went to sleep late yesterday → She went to bed at a late hour.

I had a friend who would say "I slept at 3 AM last night" for "I went to sleep [or I feel asleep] at 3 AM last night" but that always struck me as ungrammatical.

sleep in to sleep beyond one's usual  ...

usually we use overlsept as an excuse, and 'sleep in' as intentional or a luxury.  Sleep in can never be an excuse for being late at work or to class.

Yeah, thanks, ed. I was going to add that but you got to it before I did.

Hope I haven't overdone it with that list! (You can see more over- words here, where the above comes from.)

to sleep in is intentional. ("Sleeping in" on Sunday is a time-honored California tradition!)

to sleep late is just a description of sleeping past the usual time; the context may indicate whether it was intentional or unintentional:
I had nothing to do that day so I slept late.

I had a lot to do that day but unfortunately I slept late.
