With 5 million floating population, he can expect ROOM RENTAL income of a least (Rmb20,000 x 20% = Rmb4,000 or Rmb300 per room).....Rmb300 to Rmb600...per room on single or double sharing!....ie. floor rental for a 3 bedroom apartment in Shanghai is probably Rmb900 to Rmb1,800.....i'll think it is closer to Rmb1,800 per month due to "floating population" is no stranger to congested living!
That means base price for apartments would be Rmb1,800 x 12 = Rmb21,600 / 0.08 = Rmb270,000!!!!! for a 3-room Shanghai apartment!
Low cost homes in Shanghai...will be STUDIO, 2-bedroom apartments of size 50 sm or less!.......this would cost Rmb80,000 to Rmb150,000.....and it should work out to be 30% of housing stock to reduce unhappiness with the underclass!
