Now for the boat challenge

This is the oldest person I could find in a boat.  He is thought to be the ancient Egyptian Pharoh Sethnakht, who had a short reign from about 1188 to 1186 BC.  The mummy was found in 1898 in tomb KV35 in the Valley of the Kings.  He's about 3,200 years old.  Hey, no one said he had to be alive!

I still have time to outdo you!

And what do you mean "baffling prize"?!? It's a trophy of an egg, for the EGG competition! Duh. How straightforward is that Mr. Clever-Genius-Man?
(don't be offended by the genius comment, I know you types can be sensitive about it... keep in mind I have no proof you're a genius, I'm just guessing)

Off to google I go! .... maybe we'll extend this a day. If it's only me & you by 12:50 or next time we're here, we'll add 24 hrs.

Ok fine, so we probably won't find one over 3200yrs old in a boat. Forget extending it this time. I'm posting these anyway - the skeleton is of a 9000 yr old man, who was "discovered by two boat racing enthusiasts" - hey, I tried. And the others are of old ALIVE people, I just liked the pics and I'm hoping for second place.

(why, when i searched for boats & old people, did I get porn & Dr. Spock from star trek?)

Freaky, your first pic is very cool, and so is the expression on the face of the guy in the bottom pic.  Can't say much for the expression on the one in the middle.  As for searching, Google works in mysterious ways.  I seem to get different results depending on if I'm using Firefox or Internet Explorer.

There is more info on the 2005 exhibit being set up at the Redsky Artspace at http://www.mrgross.com/Guangzhou%20Triennale.html  .  That site also has some more pictures and a link to Redsky's site.  According to one caption, the egg city model used 10,000 chicken, quail, an ostrich eggs. :)

Very interesting egg stuff! Did you already know of it or did you discover it while looking for egg pics?

The first pic of mine had more with it too... that 87 yr old guy makes his living ferrying people around on the Yangtze.

- It's a quick easy page, part of a contest. He's got some muscles!

Hey... now that I looked again, I think I may have discovered a cool site as a result of our little game, The China Folklore Photographic Association: http://www.china-fpa.org/english/index.htm .... it's not loading right and I have to go to bed, I don't know if it's an interesting site or not, but now I know where to find it.

NEXT CHALLENGE

Your trophy sir, given to you by my old man in a boat, on behalf of your old man in a boat, being that yours can't move. (yes I'm silly, it's late & I'm tired, sometimes being tired is like being drunk a little bit)

NEXT CHALLENGE

FIND a picture of..... the biggest area of land you can, all in one photo, photographed by a "normal" person with a camera (no satellite photos, maps, etc). Is that clear?

For example, the first picture would win over the second. It might be hard to judge this one, unless diogenes pulls another "thinking outside the box" move.

(no satellite photos!)
