Famous Emperor Kang Xi, Qian Loong always like to mix Han culture into their rule!!!
I know that, lots of people admire him, and it's said to be the "Kang qian sheng shi"--the glorious time from Kang xi to Qian long, and a lot of TV series love to boasting about it, I can't help laughing looking at those tv series licking the dead's boots
...the real history's really petty and lame compared with the glorious former ones.
It is still a fact he wasn't Chinese, which has nothing to do with wether he learn Han culture or nor, actually those other emperors in Qing dynasty learn about Han, too. But the problem is they forbid Han people get to know their own culture and history, they destroyed historical records, the "character prison", Kang xi's no better than his former or latter. They forbid Han people to wear their own ethinic costume. while the emperor themselves secretly put on it for fun, they forbid their people to marry Han people(cause they believe it'll stain their blood)..and the situation got so terrible that they have to abolish it later.
People say Kang xi's contributions---unified Tai Wan, signed the treaty of Nipchu with Russia, however the first one is just the purpose to slaughter and invasion of the last few Han people stayed in Tai wan, who refused to be invaded by the different race, and the treaty Kang xi signed with Russian is actually a witness of the weakness the military was, China had to give in and lost a few northern territory. If you look at Ming dynasty, China had one of the most advanced technology in the world, when powder, firearms, artillery had been applied in war, however in Qing dynasty the situation became regradation. And in Qing dynasty the governor forbid civilian to learn martial arts, with the fear that they'll rebell, art, technology lagged behind the world.
As for art, handcrafts and architecture, art and furniture design(which was a gem in Ming dynasty) of Qing dynasty are recognized as the most tacky taste.
As for military it could not compare with Han dynasty, as for open-minded society and communication it can't compare with Tang dynasty, as for art and literature
no one could compare with Song dynasty, as for technology and development it can't compare with Ming dynasty.
The country closed the door to the outside world(as early as in early Qing) , people's mind were restricted, military was restricted, sporting was restricted, art and creation were restricted...if to choose a lameset era, that's definitely Qing dynasty.
