   kind of like chinese expression: 你这个家伙。但谁能说说这个说法具体咋用啊?是不是必须在两个非常要好的朋友之间才能用?

男女有别?

As a female, 我还从未与人亲热至称呼“狗肉”or“狗东西”。不管怎么说,在中文中这两个词是有歧义的,属于慎用的范畴。不知在英文中有没有类似的忌讳?

you better not, or never,  call a woman a female dog in English. Or a man, son of a female dog.

Hehe, I wouldn't mind being greeted with "You old dog!" in English! As for its Chinese "literary equivalent", I may still frown upon it - probably my Chinese is being too old fashioned? I find it harder to keep up with neo-Chinese these days.
