American Weapons Crap ?

Once more I find myself in hysterical laughter over these threads of discussion. Greendragon especially delights me with such retoric as inferior and junk when he/she refers to the USA. If I correctly recall from earlier statements made in this forum, many keep speaking about parity of weapons with the US, usually by espionage and covert methods to obtain technology from the west, but so far none have achieved this.

This era of "Smart Weapons" Black Projects (Shunk Works) and the 21st Century all being created around the next "Computer Literate" generation scares the hell out of me. Time and time again those that think america has lost its edge and produces crap, keep finding out just the opposite. So humor me more fellow members, and keep wearing those blinders.

Yeah convair!

Yeah mate, seems that there are a few mindless dolts out there who spout and drone without knowing much about what they're saying, or the subject matter......sad! Really though folks, who cares who has the best weapons etc, the strongest militaries, the worlds just too damn small now to have another world war, so why don't we all settle down, have a few beers and find out what we actually have in common....cheaper, easier and definitely more friendly!

Could lack of specialists be one of the reasons that Americans are producing crap?

Universities Retool Computer Science
By Greg Bluestein
May 29, 2007 11:47AM

The number of new computer science majors has steadily declined since 2000, falling from close to 16,000 students to only 7,798 in fall 2006. And the downward trend isn't expected to reverse soon. About 1 percent of incoming freshmen have indicated computer science as a probable major, a 70 percent drop in the numbers from 2000.

...
At risk, professors say, is nothing less than U.S. technology supremacy. As interest in computer science drops in the U.S., India and China are emerging as engineering hubs with cheap labor and a skilled work force.

And the downward trend isn't expected to reverse soon. The association says about 1 percent of incoming freshmen have indicated computer science as a probable major, a 70 percent drop from the rate in 2000.

The aftermath of the dot-com bust may have triggered the exodus, but computer scientists admit they've also been slow to adapt to the changes by reprogramming their teaching methods.

Interestingly, the article mentioned a couple of Asians:
Deepak Kumar, the chair of the computer science department
Ami Shah, a 21-year-old senior major
It seems as if Asians have to bail the Americans out by doing the thinking for them!
What would happen if all the Chinese and Indians scientists and engineers leave them?

Nah...

... they are just the next generation of American immigrants.  If my hazy memory serves, a lot of the "Chinese" posters here have immigrated to America, England, Canada, etc.

You mistake "Opportunity"  vrs "Freeby". Nothing is free, but the opportunity is there. Also why did they leave their home country (Maybe they were 4th class citizens)  I haven't a clue why they come, but maybe it's the Opportunity to improve their lives.
