懒洋洋在这里是否应理解为道路曲折?

A narrow, winding path stretches into the distance.

懒洋洋 应该是拟人手法 不是曲折吧

The friendship bridges you & me.

个人不同的意见,别介意。

懒洋洋就是懒洋洋,英文的 lazily,英文常用形容小路稍微弯弯曲曲。
曲折就是曲折, 一点都不懒洋洋, 一点都不 gently。

a footpath stretches itself sluggishly forward

懒洋洋 = it can also be translated as "slowly"

follow suit: a footpath stretches ahead slowly.

It can also be translated as "lazily" which is more descriptive and emotive than "slowly" . In fact, the Chinese is best served by translating as "lazily", not slowly.

why do you think we can only use "lazily" here?

Rovi, I don't even hope to convince you; let an English dictionary do that.

The words you suggest - languidly, listlessly, lethargically, slackly, slackishly - all have shades of different meaning and many describe a mental or physical state. "Lazily" is commonly used in English to describe how a road or path gently curves, that's why I suggest it. In fact the phrase "a small (or narrow) path lazily stretching into the distance" is a descriptive phrase in English but, again, you needn't take my word for it.

Cheers laddie/boyo/matey/pard/buster, etc.
