我认为这句话与法理精神相悖.

同意onthego的观点

现在这句话也慢慢地从审讯室的墙上消失了,量刑应考虑所犯的罪行及口供提供的线索的价值,而不是态度

“坦白从宽,抗拒从严!”Cop a plea?

(a lawless "cop a plea":)
-you must choose to cooperate in order for us to consider a favorable court judgment against you.
-your silence is considered as a sign of your refusal to cooperate and a further evidence to be used against you in the final sentencing.
-your attitudes will be taken into account in determining your fate.

the chinadaily translation of this slang is "cop a plea". however, "cop a plea" is done as the law permits. in contrast, “坦白从宽,抗拒从严!” uses the defendant's attitude towards cooperation as a major reference in the consideration of penalties, which is against law. see below:

Cop A Plea (within the law)
n. Term for "plea bargain" where a criminal case defendant agrees to plead guilty for their actions in return for the prosecution's promise of a leniency recommendation in sentencing or for some of the charges to be dropped. Before the plea is entered and becomes final, the judge usually agrees to the recommendation.
