imgagine this

Imagine if Taiwan were to authorize a company to drill in the East China Sea like the Japanese did. I would guess China would send its submarines and a full navy display to the straight to block the Taiwanese ships. It might even do so with the Russians.... what a drastic contrast against China's rather soft verbal protest against Japan.

The world will start treating you with more respect if and only if you can treat your own people with more respect.

our government should put military measurement

The korea can protect korean by navy ship ,the Ruassa can say :no any negotiation with Japan under the Island " , why our government can't ???

Our first tast is development ,but the scources are our base for development . How can we make a big development if we can't protect our resources.

very true

China's growth can only be sustained by a stable and economic supply of crucial resources such as oil and natural gas. If China can't safeguard a territory as important as the East China Sea today, it will lead to a lot of negative repercussions in the future.

China and Russia's naval excercise should be directed at Japan.

Chinese navy only needs to defend its "littoral waters".

I am sure China would discover oil in Spratsly, Diaoyutai.

In fact, i am sure Bohai sea, all those "Gulf regions" should contain oil and gas reserves. Look at Persian Gulf, Caspian sea, Gulf of Mexico, near Gulf of Thailand......all contain oil....i am sure there is oil.

The Chinese navy is needed to protect those "Semi submersible" oil platforms that eventually will be needed to get the "oil" out.

It might need to have a "blue water" fleet later on should there be changes in the situation in the Indian Ocean.

Mmmmmm

The Gaming continues........

An important piece of information is missing here.

The Japanese foreign ministry  kept requesting in vain, for a year or two, to the Chinese government to share the data with regard to the actual location of the natural gass which they are trying to siphon out.

The Japanese naturally suspect that the location actually belong to the disputed zone, otherwise China wouldn't have chosen the point of drilling so far away from the continent and so close to the disputed zone because it does not make sense economically.

While ingnoring the request for clarification, China kept carrying out her drilling plan as scheduled. The Chinese government did not give the Japanese government a choice but to launch its own exploration. The exploartion was not suddenly permitted by the Japanese government. There was a long waiting period, waiting for a response from the Chinese governent.
