视而不见, 听而不闻
Look but not see, hear and not listen
I think both Chinese and the English sayings refer to the same thing:
We ignore the significance what is obvious.

I don’t know the origin of the Chinese saying, but the English saying can be traced back to two thousands years, and is widely quoted through the ages to mean we may read, hear or look at something without registering its importance or perceiving its true meaning.
