We invest in already successful, generally large cap companies.

1. Instead of saying "large companies that are already successful", they said "already successful, large companies".  Can "already " be used here to describe "successful", and then together they desceibe companies?

2.  what does "cap" here mean???  Anyone has seen this usuage before?

It says "already successful, generally large-cap companies" which is "very compact, very good-sounding English." And, yes, "already" can be used to describe "successful" just like in "not yet successful" or "obviously successful."

larg cap company = company with a large capitalization in the stock market. There are also mid-cap and small-cap companys. All are divided by their respective stock market capitalizations (which are calculated as the total number of stocks outstanding times the value per stock).
