The German pig farmers won't be in as much a hurry as some of their politicians to label China a strategic rival, will they?|
And this is the heart of all matters EC-China. Looking at relationship potential long-term, it can be strong, rosy, mutually co-achieving and free from all the baggage of western imperialism wrought onto Asia of past.
But if countries like Germany still aspire to play their US-China hot-cold gamesmanship in order to win for themselves the best deals from both sides, they may find in the end those they play on will only remember they were being played at.
With the US, EC is seen as two things: military buffer against Russia and western co-partner to fight China - most importantly, both objectives at cost of European lives and companies only. After all, a US win to enter the China market first will be a European loss to try to tailgate after.
If Europeans forge forward with friendlier and more mutually cooperative permanent relationship with China, they will have a stronger footprint than before in an Asia of the 21st Century World.
Would they instead like to pander and sniffle at the feet of American hubris, for all the old schoolboy network buddying their American 'friends' are fast to display when it suits US MAGA-interest primarily? Climate change, digital tax, Nordstrom pipeline, auto tariff threats. Depending on mood swings over Washington DC, new lists coming up anytime that will disrupt markets in Europe strung like puppets on a string as climax to centuries of renaissance progress that had in fact crossed the Atlantic, only now in dripping in hypocrisy.
In the word 'MAGA', there is no 'Europe'. And the US these days only play their ZERO-sum game, meaning i win and you must lose. Ursula von whatever and your ilk, you reading this?
