It is now apparent Trump has humiliated and threatened BOTH Iran and Iraq.|
After blowing to smithereens Iran's revered military leader in an act of rogue assassination, Trump has now threatened to bomb the historical sites of that nation in a hardly veiled attempt to castrate the cultural civilization of what was once the Persian Empire. Is he insane? For the benefit of his Jerusalemic advisers embedded in Washington dc, that act would sit next to the endlosung campaign of reinhardt heydrich.
And he has also threatened Iraq, a nation invaded, devastated and disrupted by US military forces on the shim of a WMD lie that th le UK's Blair knew as well but all the same both predator countries went in with guns blazing, leaving ahundreds of thousands of civilians including children to die from lack of medicine and nutrition. After all that, Trump is now threatening to sanction Iraq if it doesn't allow US troops to remain, furthermore if it doesn't pay for the US military base there.
But this is as irresponsible as it is as irrational. It is in fact just muscular bullying on a country still grappling with US DNA injected into its veins. Firstly, the decision to evict the US from Iraqi soil is a parliamentary decision formed by a democratically elected Iraqi senate. Is the US saying it doesn't respect democracy anywhere if it is not in the US' interest? And secondly, if the US had all along not asked Iraq to pay for the US military base there, why now if the intent of that base was really to protect Iraq - unless the objective wasn't really to protect Iraq as much as to project US strike power in that region.
The price of oil has shot up. Oil and shipping companies know the dangers of traversing the incendiary Straits of Hormuz. Hopefully China has not committed to buy US energy products at the new prices. Why should China for that matter any other country pay for the US' felony and infamy?
Everywhere the US puts up a military presence, there it creates tension and conflict, often ending up killing more locals directly and collaterally.
If only it can exercise some real wisdom about others. But that would be asking too much of the world's sole hegemon which has only shown how shallow it is, bereft of any real culture, drunk in its own power, blinded away from any 20-20 vision by its ambition, greed, suspicion and sheer anger at a world of its own making.
