It is good to introduce the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao idea. Ideally these three are connected by the free mobility of people moving across the 3 territories. Administratively, they should be separated for healthy competition but within national uniformity to reflect the common national status. The legal and financial mechanisms also have to have commonality. Shenzhen is not exactly cheap and thus in terms of offering affordable housing may not be easy.

Quite important is the education of the people in Hong Kong and their Mandarin pro-efficiency and daily use of Mandarin.

There are still many radical Hong Kong rich. it is important to retain some of these talents on a scaled down basis but there is also a need to close down some of these rich radicals. A good selective mechanism to accept and reject should be put in place but beware of their propensity to buy their way through as they did with the English which caused today's chaos. Driving the HKSE down by 30%-50% should be one good approach at least for the next 5-6 years, if not 10 years to weed out the recalcitrant.

Many had touted that they can go abroad. Its a funny call. In Asia not many want any idiot who raises US and UK flags but not their national flags - these are good people for US and UK to recruit to conduct espionage works. Given the Hong Kong's psychology, it is certain that they will sell out any nation's interest. It is the worst pit bottom mentality that they have. They don't even see themselves as Asians but Caucasians - something totally wrong with the entire Hong Kong psychology. Its the worst reflection of Asian mentality. Even the Hong Kong teachers dared to protest and pose threats to the police force - that's disrespecting authority. Why don't the rich Hong Kong elites close these schools and sack these teachers in high profile manner? The best part is that some still called for loving approach to resolve the crises but then no one called out for the love of the country proper. If they do know about love, they would not have in the first place rallied against the bill which is for national interest. There is also no love for their countrymen otherwise what is problem going for a total embrace. Clearly the Hong Kong are rejecting the Mainlanders - where is the love? Founded by the authorities are various explosives and then visibly there so many protest equipment sufficient to be used as arms against its local police force. Certainly there is collaboration with foreign nations in the wholesale of national interests. So where is the national love? Is their call for love genuine or only smoke screen protection  to avoid punishment?

If these Hong Kees can go scot free without punishment, then in future there can be no punishment for the entire nation for malice and sale of national interest. The entire Chinese legal system cannot say no to one segment but punishes the others.

Hong Kong had better self-punish and shut down for business if they understand what is love. By collaborating with foreign nations to put the entire nation in the current predicament is definitely an act of treason which cannot be resolved with love. What Hong Kong is telling the whole world is that they can sell any national interest and expect to go scot free.

At the end of the day, all comes down to the livelihood of the people at large.

The misery ordinary people in HK has been enduring, could only be attributed to the people themselves, whose popular opinions that headed off the proposed shift in HK's economic growth model resulted in the sorry state they find themselves in today.
Believe it or not, it's true.

I'm told that scads of affluent families from mainland have scarfed up houses in Hong Kong, including Tencent's  Pony Ma. Thus, you just can't pin blame on Li Ka-shing for jacking up house prices in Hong Kong when every rapacious business man is doing the same-which is to say, their eagerness to  draw on their connections to get what they want.

Nepotism is part of Chinese culture.
