I fail to see any logic in the rioters beating up someone just because he had worn a shirt saying he supported the police who were only doing their job to stop the public mayhem. |
Are the rioters saying they can beat up anyone who holds a different view from them? If yes, what does that signify regarding their belief, if they even know what they are trying to fight for?
Rather than continue their rioting and barricades, they should stop and discuss the likelihood of how they have come to this present stage - still being influenced to inflict violence and destroy public property paid out of their parents sacrifices in order to be the shield and weapon of the foreign powers who have coaxed them to rebel.
They should ask and answer for themselves: if the foreign powers know the rioters' actions will only invite retribution and may even cause physical harm to the rioters when things get out of hand, what does that tell everyone the character and real intention of those foreign powers?
If those powers believe so much in what they have told the rioters, why don't those powers themselves come out in force and join in the rioting and destruction?
And if the rioters say it's their economic plight, how can anything they have done so far that has resulted in the diminution of their home-place's reputation and stability help in solving their economic plight?
Until the riots started, their home-place was world-renowned as a mecca of free enterprise finding its worth as the historical door to China. So many of their parents had made it good investing in the Mainland a short drive away either by plane, car, train or hovercraft and their earnings have helped made their homeplace a thriving and prosperous part of China which in turn has enabled those youths to be fed, housed, get an education.
Those youths should concentrate on finishing their studies first so that they can acquire the critical thinking and research skills to find out for themselves the real world everywhere and how hard it is to make a living so as to be financially independent, and how easy it is to be swayed, again by those from the same mold who had once posted 'Chinese and dogs not allowed' in a public park, their own home soil.
Rioting and destroying will only make a mockery of their character, upbringing and foresight.
If they can't even manage themselves and their emotions today, how can they manage themselves in the future to play a bigger role as part of the China human capital?
