This trade war is good for China. To grow up one needs challenges. To learn one needs to go through various experience.

China should be more worried had Trump been more quiet. That will breed complacency.

If the claim is true that this trade war is detrimental to all then China is not disadvantaged since everyone else loses too.

However this is an once GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY for Chinese entrepreneurs to think how to rebrand and reposition themselves in this challenging environment so that they win both at the premium and also at the normal levels. Branding is important. What is branding, how to brand etc. are important to know. Superb branding will ovrcome US' tariff hikes. If Americans want the Chinese brand they will pay even if Trump slaps a 300% tariff hike. They won't lose out eventually because sooner or later US has to give them back the money indirectly or they will revolt. As for Chinese exporters with brands that the Americans want it is important to communicate with them. Its about building a loyal following. Just find ways to communicate with the American consumers. If possible tell them that you Chinese exporters have not hike their charges as you all appreciate them and let them know that they are being charged the same price as every other country but sympathise with their country's deplorable political biasness. Also find ways to bypass these tariff charges to cater to the 300 million consumers. Not all are wealthy enough though. To the 1% rich Americans, tailor make your supplies.

Its the same in marketing to everywhere else in this world. The supply chain must be there and the communication and knowledge of the market demand must be there. Creating demand is another skill needed by China.

China cannot go on this alone. Too much Chinese brand can become stale fast. So there needs to be alternatives. Diversity generated from the convergence between China with the Central Asians and the Mekong nations are important to create brand diversity. If Indonesia and Philippines want to join this creative joint that'll be superb. The louder the voice from Asia, the more attention it attracts and if the things offered are excellent, its irresistible.

Germany has a huge trade deficit with uncle Sam...

Perhaps you'd have been good as Richard the Lionheart..
At the age of nine, Prince Richard was betrothed to 9-year-old Princess Alais, daughter of the French King Louis VII.
She was a pawn in the power struggle between the Plantagenet dynasty that ruled England, what else could one be at the age of 9...

Henry VIII had a 60 something Plantagenet murdered late in his reign.

Off the top of my head I think it was Lady Salisbury.

Anyway, Trump! slap those tariffs on German imports. especially their cars.

Stop with the hollow nationalism. Free trade means fair trade. The US has assisted the Chinese economy as an emerging market for over 50 years. Now is the time to make the playing field fair in both directions. The bellicose coming from China sounds more militant then partner. Stop it, work on FAIR Trade and let fair competition win, then everyone wins.
