Her detainment is illegal to begin with, let alone extradition to the US.

Sad the shrinking viole ...
Sad the shrinking violet canucks could never stand up for themselves.

The prosecution's case is full of holes; eg. Meng's illegal detention at the airport transit lounge  ...

In both the United States and Canada, as well as Australia and New Zealand, Border Security agents have the right to search your laptop, tablet, and/or cellphone. If you do not hand over your password to enable this search, your device will be confiscated and sent to a lab, where your password will be broken, and your device files searched. If there is nothing illegal, or determined to be a threat to the safety and security of the country, your devices will be returned to you.

How can Meng who is a Canadian resident be a security risk to Canada?  Her detention and search is illegal! There is no reason for that!

Since when would uncle Sam need a reason to do things his way !!!

Simply look at Cuba or Venezuela...  He figures a big stick will let him have what he desires so badly...

Didn't he try to install a new President in Venezuela without asking the people of Venezuela!!!
I that isn't interfering in another Countries internal affairs...

It is not only safety and security that they are looking for. They are also searching for items that may be illegal to import into Canada, like porn, or paedophilia pictures. They also look for things of a criminal nature, like Biker gang members may have dates, names, places of interest, meeting schedules, etc in document files. Terrorist, or Patriot groups may have plans, or places of interest, etc.. They can look through emails and downloaded attachments, but they cannot download attachments that are not already on the device. They cannot get anything from the cloud. The document or file has to be physically on the device, or they are not allowed to look at it. For example, you may have 300,000 mp3 files in the cloud, but they can't be touched. If you had those same 300,000 songs on your laptop, it could arouse suspicion, such as why such a large number of songs? Who's going to listen, or has the time to listen, to that many songs?

The practice is not without its legal questions, either. Lawyers are worried about Solicitor/Client Privilege because they may have case files to do with their clients on their laptop. Doctors are worried about Doctor/Patient Confidentiality, etc.
