SNC-Lavalin is a Canadian company, so yes, it is about jobs.
We don't need your jobs.

The fact that he didn't try to exert similar influence in the Meng case shows that they are not the same.

Trump's threat of having additional illegal tariffs on Canadian steel-aluminum exports.
BULLSH1T,  We could have handed her over to the US on day one.
We should have, and she should be in a US jail.

This is quintessential Saulspeak, falsely appointing yourself as a Canadian rep out to 'explain' away inconsistencies in Canadian law enforcement.

The fact that Justin Trudeau did not choose to speak up on behalf of Meng in a case that Canada has no legal right to enforce shows he is a coward.  It just indicates that other than Trump, no one had given him an offer he couldn't refuse.

You are not in any official position to determine whose jobs you need and whose you don't.

Using foul language here is emblematic of a sore loser who can't use logic or facts to support his contentions in a discussion.

why would Justin want to help a company sanctioned by the UN for its wrongful deeds in Libya?

job ...

Yes, jobs, because it employs thousands of Canadians, but that is no excuse for political interference in a criminal case against the company, with much fallout, like resignation of Justice Minister!!

The man is a disappointment.

I think he blew the chance to be recognized as a Canadian leader who could have made a difference in Sino-Canadian relationship especially in bilateral cultural exchanges and trade.

"We could have handed her over to the US on day one."

Yeah, try doing that and see how China would react!
