Carefully craft the social education and publicity to promote this sort of cross border collaboration and bridge people's mind-set. The better one knows the other, the better the chances of peace, harmony and tranquility.|
Let this type of healthy mental state seep into the people's mindset.
Of course this one activity alone will not promote convergence. It needs to be supported by daily social undertakings. Environment, education, entertainment, couture, cuisine and tourism are good platforms.
With the correct human behavior, this Mekong nations are well positioned to make the entire region healthily green with natural forest, re-afforestation, agriculture and aquaculture. Horticulture can be promoted within the cities. Apart from protecting and preserving the environment agriculture and especially horticulture can be converted to art. Biological studies blended with artistic thoughts can then help to make horticulture become part of our daily life - within the cities. Agriculture, aquaculture, horticulture all these are strong foundations that can support manufacturing industry, commodities markets, financial markets, tourism industry, fashion, lifestyle, well-being health industry, biological industry etc. The qualitative mental state also needs to be improved to raise the quality of these industries.
Of course education is necessary to bring everyone on par. In this respect these six nations can agree on the entire history of East Asia in a positive manner and from there adopt a common stand and study the geographical behavior of the region in its entirety. Science, maths and arts should be exchanged. This will help to promote innovation. Filial piety and social etiquette should be widely taught too. Of the six, Thailand is quite open, hence it is best positioned for nurturing creativity. Thailand however will need to promote their proficiency in English and Mandarin without sacrificing their Siamese. Chinese universities should reach out to all six nations and if possible expand into these countries. At the same time China should invite the universities from these 5 countries to set up universities in China. This sort for cross-assistance should be well illustrated to the public of the Mekong Nations.
Entertainment, couture, cuisine and tourism form an important matrix to bring different people together. It cannot be only the Chinese visiting the other 5 countries for holidays only. People from these countries should be encouraged to holiday in China as well. The entertainment, couture and cuisine of various culture should be widely introduced even to far west China and from far west China to all the other 5 countries.
The media is vital. How various media collaborates to inject warmth, defuse tension, assist to resolve and dissolve resentment etc. is crucial. Surely there will be saboteurs and the media needs to help guide the people in avoiding and rebutting these saboteurs. The social behavior of each nation needs to be introduced and explained to the others to build familiarity. When one is familiar with the other, there will be less shock and resentment as people understand one another.
If this social integration is really beneficial it can be reproduced in the rest of East Asia (including ANZ - ANZ is basically South East Asia except that the West has maliciously carved it out of Asia for their own interest), Central Asia, the rest of Asia and the Asia-Pacific.
