A Chinese couple living in the US for twodecades were expeled by the local government and ordered to leave the US on Feb16, the Chinese New Year on lunar calendar.
Zhe Long Huang and his wife Xiang Jin Li are both from Jilin Province of China,and went into New York through illegal channel and moved to Simsbury,Connecticut. In 2006, the couple opened a small shop Deco Salon, and two oftheir sons were born in the US, aged 15 and 5 respectively.
Mr. Huang said since their arrival in theUS in 1999 they have paid tax as required without any criminal record.
So far, Mr. Huang has been equipped withGPS tracker by local police to prevent possible escape, and the couplewere ordered to buy one-way ticket to leave the US, with the deadline being Feb16, 2018, the day of lunar new year of China.
Sympathizers and supporters gathered at thegate of the salon to voice their protest against the hardline immigrant policy ofthe US government.
The couple told in tears at the gatheringthat they did not how to handle the two underaged kids who were born in the USand did not know Chinese language. "We have been here for 20 years andpaid taxes for the same period, we are American citizens, but now we are toldto leave the country!"
