Nothing is simple about the crisis in Syria.

With conflicting interests and competing global powers, the international community remains at an impasse over Syria's six-year conflict.
On Friday morning local time, the US military struck a Syrian airbase in response to a chemical weapons attack, bringing mixed reaction from global players. Some lauded the action as long overdue, while others condemned it as "an aggression."

"Let’s start with what we don’t know.
Experts remain uncertain what chemical(s) were involved in the horrific chemical attack, almost certainly from the air, on the village of Khan Sheikhun in Idlib province in Syria.

We don’t know for sure yet what it was that killed more than 75 people, many of them children, and injured many more."

"Crucially, we also don’t know who was responsible.

Western governments, led by the United States, and much of the western press have asserted that the Syrian regime is responsible, but there is still no clear evidence."

President Vladimir Putin believes that U.S. cruise missile strikes on a Syrian air base broke international law and have seriously hurt U.S.-Russia relations, Russian news agencies cited the Kremlin as saying on Friday.

The Russian leader, a staunch ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, regarded the U.S. action as “aggression against a sovereign nation” on a “made-up pretext” and as a cynical attempt to distract the world from civilian deaths in Iraq, Dmitry Peskov, Putins spokesman, was cited as saying.

We are not even sure if many of the children were killed on site since there are local reports of pick-up trucks having shipped them in following mass kidnappings in the previous 24 hours. The bodies of the children have certainly been staged as White Helmets witness as clearly identifiable bodies appear in a variety of different locations.

My money is on a Syrian strike on a munitions dump that was containing gas and it was considered too good an opportunity to miss by the White Helmets propaganda unit. But since there has been no independent investigation then the USA are no better than those that they accuse since they have apparently been training terrorists to use gas. Perhaps every time the USA hits a hospital, a wedding party or even the civilians and children that they killed with their 38 (76%) cruise missiles that missed the Syrian airbase we should launch 50 cruise missiles at an American airbase.
(mostly harmless)
