Is this a correct interpretation of China's path, or how China sees its path?

China seems to have been becoming more and more capitalist.  In the United States, the prevailing interpretation seems to be that that means that China is slowly abandoning communism.

But is this the Chinese view?

In Marxist theory, countries move from feudalism to capitalism, and from capitalism to communism.  But historically, the latter did not happen.  The countries (like Russia and China) that had communist revolutions were feudal societies.

That means that those countries missed the capitalist phase, and the development generated by capitalism.

By allowing itself to become partially capitalistic, whether temporarily or permanently, it is making up for that gap.  The capitalist development in China is ultimately intended to serve socialistic goals.

Would that be a correct interpretation of the Chinese view?
